Jane Austen's novel 'Sense and Sensibility' gave the world indelible images of these two distinct personality types. "Sense" is what you might think. But "Sensibility" is a word that has lost its meaning over time. Perhaps the best definition today would be romantic idealism, or emotional sensitivity.
