It has come as a resounding surprise that 13-year-old dancing star Maddie Ziegler will be added to the judging panel on "So You Think You Can Dance." In keeping with its Next Generation theme, Ziegler will join Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo on the series.
It looks like Cat Deeley is going to be able to feed that new baby after all. According to the latest gossip news updates, 'So You Think You Can Dance' has been renewed for a 2016 season with a premiere date set for early May. While it has been rumored for quite some time that the show was due for a change in format, 'SYTYCD: The Next Generation' is going to feature an All-Star element on top of the contestants all being children, ages 8-13.
Season 12 of So You Think You Can Dance might have ended months ago for many of their fans, but the Top Ten still find themselves performing on the post-season tour night after night. According to Eddie "Neptune" Eskridge the fans that have made it out to the 70-city tour have told him that they think it's the best in the series' history. That's should be good news for Gaby Diaz and Jaja Vaňková at the very least says Season 6 runner-up Jakob Karr. To hear Karr tell it, the biggest opportunities of his career came as a consequence of his performing on the show.
Season 12 of So You Think You Can Dance may be officially over as far as most of its fans are concerned, but for last year's Top Ten -- like Virgil Gadson -- there are still a few days still left in their 70-city tour. Gadson recently commented that, although he is very grateful for the opportunity, the four-and-a-half-month theatre tour has been anything but fun. For his part, Jim Nowakowski, who is also a part of the follow-up tour explained that in addition to the grueling schedule, the former contestants are also expected to perform a remarkable amount of routines in every show.
It would seem that 'So You Think You Can Dance' host, Cat Deeley, got a double dose of good news in the New Year. According to the latest gossip news updates, Fox has announced their plans to bring back the dance show the very same day this week that the English TV host revealed via Twitter that she had just given birth to a brand new baby boy. Interestingly, the birth of Deeley's third child coincides with a change in 'So You Think You Can Dance's' format. When the reality series returns later this year, it's contestants will all be kids à la 'Project Runway: Junior' and 'MasterChef Junior.'
The winner of the current season of 'So You Think You Can Dance' is to be offered an ensemble role in the upcoming 70th anniversary Broadway revival of 'On the Town.'
