'Nico Muhly’s Internet Opera, Two Boys, Gets Live Metropolitan Opera Release via Nonesuch Records on September 30

Nico Muhlys’ internet opera, Two Boys, will be released on Nonesuch Records on September 30, 2014. Two Boys was recorded live (and streamed) at the Metropolitan Opera in 2013, with production by conductor David Robertson and director Bartlett Sher. The two-act opera also features a libretto by playwright Craig Lucas and vocals by Alice Coote and Paul Appleby.

The Metropolitan Opera presents the U.S. premiere of Nico Muhly's 'Two Boys' tonight at 8:00 p.m. This Met-commissioned opera tells the story of an elaborate internet deception that led to the murder of the teenage computer prodigy who orchestrated the scam.

'eighth blackbird Plays Music of Wilco Drummer Glenn Kotche and Other Bad Boys of New Music at Free Chicago Concert

You can still hear eighth blackbird before they fly the Chicago coop. The Grammy-winning new music group will present a program dominated by Chicago-area composers on Wednesday, August 28 at Millennium Park--including a première by Glenn Kotche, a composer more widely known as the drummer from rock band Wilco.
