David Duchovny Wife Téa Leoni Fired from New Show ‘Madam Secretary’ after CBS Sells to UK’s Sky TV? [NEWS UPDATE]

David Duchovny's ex-wife, Téa Leoni, is making quite a splash with her new TV show on CBS, Madame Secretary, but her ego could blow the first big break she's had in years if Leoni isn't careful. According to the latest gossip news updates, the network politician is making everyone uncomfortable with her over the top diva antics and may even be fired if things continue. How unfortunate it would be if the show was cancelled here in the U.S. after the first season was just sold to the U.K.'s Sky Living Network.

If you can think of anything Téa Leoni has been in other than perhaps Bad Boys and that awful Adam Sandler vehicle, Spanglish, then you are doing better than 99 percent of your fellow Americans.

For the vast majority of audiences, however, Madam Secretary is their first time seeing Leoni act in anything at all, so it is surprising that she would take the whole experience for granted, but that is reportedly exactly what she is doing.

A source with behind-the-scenes information claims in Star's November 3, issue that Téa is driving everyone crazy with her hostile attitude and oversized sense of self (via CDL):

"Téa's ego needs some checks and balances.

"Téa told producers that she wants final approval over her costars--she doesn't want anyone who's a bigger name on the show.

"Téa wants to be the most talked-about character and throws a fit if she doesn't like one of her lines.

"She also wants to be in every scene, which has caused some tension."

Regardless of the way Leoni has been acting, CBS has been able to sell the first seasonof the show to the U.K.'s Sky Living Network, a subsidiary of BSkyB.

It would seem that the American network is just as excited to license the new series as the British network is to have it.

Stephen Tague, Senior VP, Europe for CBS Studios International told the Hollywood Reporter that the network is chuffed to bits to be sending the show across the pond:

"Madam Secretary is television at its very best; strong characters and gripping storylines that draw in the viewer week after week.

"We are pleased to continue working with Sky to bring the best U.S. programming to U.K. audiences."

Likewise, Sky Living's channel director, Antonia Hurford-Jones, is just as pleased to be able to add the new program to their ever-evolving line-up:

"I knew as soon as I saw Madam Secretary at this year's L.A. screenings it was perfect for Sky Living.

"It's a smart, pacy quality drama which has you hooked from the start. I feel confident our customers are going to love it."

So, if Ms. Leoni does wind up getting the series cancelled because of her egomaniacal nonsense, she'll be disappointing fans on two continents.
