Josh Groban Poised to Peak Billboard 200 at No. 2 with Latest Album 'Stages'

International superstar Josh Groban was heading for an astounding eighth top 10 album of the Billboard 200 chart. His latest album, Stages, was poised to take a seat in in the top five but failed to claim its seed.

Industry forecasters, according to Billboard, had claimed that the disc could have gone upward of 130,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 3. It was suspected to have made a top five debut and possibly bow at No. 2.

But the little faith we have in a most talented artist is usually curbed by the ears of popular listeners — putting the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack in the echelon along with Drake and Ed Sheeran.

Sheeran isn't all that bad, though, as he performed this year at the Grammys with jazz legend Herbie Hancock and groove master Questlove.

As it's been noted, The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

The chart's new top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday, May 6.

Groban previously peaked the top 10 with All That Echoes (No. 1 in 2013), Illuminations (No. 4, 2010), Awake Live (No. 8, 2008), Noel (No. 1, 2007), Closer (No. 1, 2004) and his self-titled debut (No. 8, 2002).

Until May 6, it's uncertain if Groban will be able to claim a most desired and awarded position.

For now, we have Josh below.
