Classicalite Recording News: D'Angelo's 'Live at the Jazz Café' in London Getting Full Reissue, New Liner Notes After 20 Years

The sultry '90s harbored some of the most sensually authentic R&B of the last few decades.

One of our favorites from that time, D'Angelo, will break on through to this millennium's side with a re-release of his famous Jazz Café performance in London from September 14, 1995.

The Virginia hero (born Michael Eugene Archer) performed a full set alongside Angie Stone, which featured favored tunes from Brown Sugar and an excellent selection of covers.

The night was recorded for future generations, but that disc only saw a Japanese release in 1996, slighting every other country of the glory that remains Live at the Jazz Café.

Until now.

The re-release will come Tuesday, March 25. And you'll get the crooner's full monty, in its entirety, as the Japanese only ran six tracks.

D'Angelo's manager, Alan Leeds, will also contribute a new essay to the original liners, which have been dutifully translated.

Here's the tracklisting:

01 Introduction
02 Fencewalk (Mandrill cover)
03 Sweet Sticky Thing (Ohio Players cover)
04 Jonz in My Bones
05 Me and Those Dreamin' Eyes of Mine
06 Sh*t, Damn, Motherf*cker
07 Cruisin' (Smokey Robinson cover)
08 I'm Glad You're Mine (Al Green cover)
09 Lady
10 Announcement
11 Can't Hide Love
12 Brown Sugar

And here are some studio vids that have us quite excited for that March 25 street date:
