Engaged George Clooney Cancels Fiancé Amal Alamuddin Wedding; Batman Splits

For years 53-year-old Hollywood icon, George Clooney has sworn up and down that he wasn't ever going to be getting engaged or married ever again, but it turns out, what he was doing, was really trying to convince himself. Problem is, he reportedly did such a good job of it, he is pathologically fearful that his engagement will end in heartache and disaster, if not another divorce. Friends seem to think that Batman may just cancel the whole wedding, in order to opt out of the pain and suffering early. While other sstill, suggest that his marrying of girlfriend Amal Alamuddin is this next step to his political aspirations, and there is no way he is going to split now.

Making the transition from confirmed life-long bachelor, to soon-to-be married man, isn't going as smoothly as George Clooney might have perhaps liked.

According to a close friend of the director/actor, George is getting some serious cold feet, after convincing himself for decades that marriage was the death of all happiness in a man's life (via Hindustan Times):

"He is definitely in love with Amal, and isn't having second thoughts about marrying her, however, he is definitely having serious wedding jitters.

"He is so afraid he is going to fail at marriage again, and the thought of going through another divorce scares him to death. Just talking about the wedding plans makes him break out in a sweat."

Although it could just as well be the alcohol withdraw that is making Clooney loses his legendary cool.

The insider also revealed that Amal has got George drying out, in the hopes of getting her fiancé picture perfect for their big day:

"Amal thinks he has been looking a bit chubby lately, and she is determined to have George looking handsomer than ever when he walks down the aisle.

"George is a longtime vodka and tequila drinker, and he loves a good steak and a big plate of fettuccine. But George will do almost anything to make Amal happy."

Besides George is going to have to get that party boy image under control if he is serious about his plans to run for office.

Despite insisting in Newsweek only a few years ago that he had, "f***ed too many chicks and did too many drugs," to ever run for office, an close friend of the merry prankster told the Mirror that Clooney was looking at a lot of things differently since meeting Amal (via News.com):

"He has big ambitions and aims to get into politics imminently.

"He wants to do more humanitarian work and hopes to join the Democrats' 2016 election campaign.

"Now he has Amal by his side it will give him more credibility to run for office."

Having a UN humanitarian immigrant from a predominantly Muslim family for a wife will help undoubtedly in dark blue state like California, but is a nail in the coffin to ever having any real juice on the national stage.
