English pianist Mark Bebbington will present “You Don’t Have to Be Jewish," a concert about Jewish musicians and the Jewish influence. The concert will present the world premiere of four lost works by pianist Harriet Cohen. George Gerswhin's songbook as well as works by Debussy, Arthur Bliss and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco will also be presented. Kronos Announces "Fifty for the Future" With Carnegie Hall: 50 New Works Commissioned Over Five Years
The Kronos Quartet/Kronos Performing Arts Association, in partnership with Carnegie Hall, has announced “Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire.” Beginning with the 2015-16 season, the project will commission a collection of 50 new works, 10 per year over five years, devoted to the most recent approaches to the string quartet.
