Struggling Drew Brees Saves New Orleans Season from Disaster: Saints Over Buccaneers 37-31
Cowboys Top Saints 38-17 as Tony Romo and Dallas Defense Exceed Expectations While Drew Brees is Short on Offensive Weapons, Awful Fake Punt
The tale told on Sunday's showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and the New Orleans Saints was one of confounded expectations. Dallas is doing much better this year, prompting many Texans to pray that this is the year Tony Romo and company turn things around. But while Dallas is exceeding expectations (particularly on defense), New Orleans is sliding in the opposite direction. Drew Brees is still performing well, but it seems that he and the Saints are short on offensive weapons, as evidenced by their 38-17 loss on Sunday, and Sean Payton's inexplicable decision to try that awful fake punt in the fourth quarter. Bengals Re-Hire Defensive Tackle Devon Still, Daughter Leah Diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, New Orleans Coach Sean Payton Generous Gesture Buys Jerseys for Cancer Research
The Cincinnati Bengals have shown a surprising amount of loyalty to one of their own this year. After defensive tackle Devon Still was cut from the Bengals' 53-man roster, it was discovered that Still had been caring for his daughter Leah. Leah has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a rare cancer. Upon learning the news, the Bengals first hired Still as part of the practice squad, and eventually re-hired him when a spot became available. Now the Bengals are donating proceeds of Still's jersey sales to pediatric cancer research. In an even more generous gesture, New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton has bought 100 jerseys for the cause.
