New Nation Of Domination? Angle Abandoned After Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingson and Big E Banded Together? Alberto Del Rio The Cause? [RUMORS]

After creating a buzz with the tease of a new Nation of Domination, WWE has seemingly dropped the angle before it really even got started. The criminal underuse of WWE's many talented black Superstars may have finally had a platform to shine and rise to stardom, but at this moment there is no word whether the company will continue the angle or abandon it. Perhaps they are afraid that its perceived racial stereotyping won't play well in light of their recent trouble with Alberto Del Rio's unfair firing. While the angle could be potentially problematic, it certainly might have made it more likely that Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big might climb out of the woodwork.

Back in May, wrestling writer Marcus K. Dowling published a fantasy booking detailing his vision of a possible reboot of the classic Attitude-Era stable, the Nation of Domination (via What Culture):

"The Nation of Islam knockoff lasted for two years in the WWF, and moreso than any level of racial disharmony, the group provided an incredible springboard to create new stars like D'Lo Brown, Mark Henry, Kama (later The Godfather) and of course, The Rock."

Even though part of his proposed ten-step process didn't bear out (Brodus Clay obviously won't make it to the party), there was a similarity between his vision and what was starting to take shape.

Sadly, though, the gimmick seems on hold for now. That could change, hopefully in the form of elevating such new character arcs to a more refined, thinking man's group of strong black men instead of a cheap Black Panther parody (via Give Me Sport):

"The three would have gained so much from teaming together, and could have been the new dominant trio in WWE after the break-up of one of the most dominant teams in WWE history in The Shield."
