Houston Ballet To Charm The Audience With 'La Bayadère' Set In Old Royal India

Houston Ballet will present La Bayadère (The Temple Dancer), on it stage starting February 21, 2013 till March 3, 2013.

The story of La Bayadère staged by Stanton Welch, who is Houston Ballet Artistic Director, is set in an old royal India. La Bayadère tells a dramatic story of love and mystery between the main character Nikiya, who is a temple dance and her lover Solor.  

Romantic scenery and colorful costumes created by English designer Peter Farmer will showcase 121 costumes including 26 handmade white tutus for the well known The Kingdom of the Shades scene.
