NLDS Game 4 Prediction: Coming off of last night's huge 8-6 victory, the Chicago Cubs are looking to close out this series and move on to the National League Championship Series against either the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. They have a chance to close out the series at home, although it won't be an easy task against a St. Louis Cardinals' team that is playing for their season.

John Lackey will be facing off against Jason Hammel this evening, which definitely favors the Cardinals.

Hammel is a middle of the pack starting pitcher and definitely has a tough task ahead of him. Beating out the Cardinals' top starter won't be easy, but Joe Maddon has extreme confidence that he can get the job done. Chicago likely will have a quick hook if Hammel gets off to a slow start and they are very confident in their bullpen.

Lackey has dominated the Cubs in four games this season, but is going to be pitching on short rest tonight. Mike Matheny had no other option other than to go with Lackey, as this could very well be the end of the Cardinals' season.

If the Cubs can get their offense going today like they did last night, they should be heading onto the NLCS series tonight. This Cubs' fan base has been patiently waiting for their team to come through with a big season for a long time and there isn't a team that deserves the success of a playoff series more than the Cubs do.

Expect this game to be entertaining and close throughout the majority of the game. Chicago has to find a way to break through Lackey's pitching in the first couple of innings if they want to come away with this win. Giving Hammel some run support is what has to happen and the Cubs are ready to make that happen and have all of the momentum in the world on their side.

St. Louis is going to put up an excellent fight tonight, but our bet is going to go with the Cubs with a chance to close out the series at home.

Chicago vs. St. Louis Final Score Prediction: Cubs 6, Cardinals 5
