The presence of the World Cup isn't lost on anyone, really. And after 19 years away from Rio De Janeiro, Plácido Domingo, will make a grand return to perform a concert in celebration of, well, the Cup.

He's been featured here before, had some face time on the Colbert Report earlier this year and continues to perform for the World Cup since 1990.

His last performance was with a C-lite favorite Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón.

The concert will take place on July 11 at the HSBC Arena in Rio, where he will share the stage with classical-cum-metal pianist Lang Lang, Ana Maria Martinez and Brazil's Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira conducted by Maestro Eugene Kohn.

And as I sit outside in Anywhere, USA I can hear in all directions the World Cup underway and claiming voices. Right now, Brazil and Croatia and their fandom encircle me, it's a brutal time to write.

If you're in the area, you can get your tickets here and find out a little more about the tenor heavyweight below.
