Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes suggested in no uncertain terms that day time talk show host Wendy Williams should stop gossiping about black celebrities and, instead, start supporting her. Well, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant should be proud of her wigged nemesis now that Williams has been named executive producer of the new Lifetime biopic movie about Queen of the Damned actress and R&B singer Aaliyah. According to the latest internet gossip news updates, Wendy has hired Alexandra Shipp to replace Disney's Zendaya, who quit the lead role. Apparently, the former crack addict chose to celebrate the project and her birthday with a drunken NYC bacchanal that startled some party goers into staring awestruck at the over-inebriated motor mouth.
Wendy Williams is doing her best to keep Lifetime's new biopic about one-time pop culture giant Aaliyah from going of the rails.
The film enjoyed all kinds of hype and coverage thanks to Disney's Zendaya bringing attention to the project upon landing the title role, but 17-year-old Zendaya has since pulled out of the picture, taking a lot of the attention with her.
No worries, according to Euroweb, executive producer Wendy Williams is throwing the full weight of her celebrity to promote the new Aaliyah film:
"Shortly after Zendaya left the film project, the film's production was at a standstill.
"But Williams picked up the slack and hired a new actress to play the lead--Alexandra Shipp."
Williams reportedly didn't do quite as good a job keeping it together for her fiftieth birthday party on July 17, at NYC's The Out hotel, however.
A source who spoke to Star Magazine for their August 4 print edition claims that Williams got so drunk during her birthday bash, that she decided to hide from her own guests:
"Her husband was popping bottles for her all night...It looked like they were both wasted.
"She was soaked from sweat and booze and started to notice people looking at her...So she went back to her private VIP area and hid behind the curtain."
Well...it's a good thing NeNe Leakes didn't say anything about Wendy acting like a role model.
