Ballet San Jose To Premiere 'Don Quixote'

Ballet San Jose is readying for the company's premiere of 'Don Quixote.'

The story is based on an episode from a famous novel of Miguel de Cervantes' titled 'The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha,' in Spanish: El ingenioso hidalgo don Quijote de la Mancha.'

'Don Quixote' tells the story about its main character Don Quixote de la Mancha who together with his servant - an armor bearer Sancho Panza, travels Barcelona in order to defend virtue.

On his journey Don Quixote mistakes an innkeeper's daughter Kitri who is in love with a barber for his lover Dulcinea.

Ballet dance of Don Quixote choreographed by After Marius Petipa and Alexander Gorsky, will include romance, drama, and comedy. Don Quixote features music by Ludwig Minkus, and is staged by Wes Chapman.

Ballet version of 'Don Quixote' will occupy the stage of Ballet San Jose from February 15 till February 17, 2013.
