Colts' 4 Game Winning Streak After Beating Ravens and Texans in One Week: Andrew Luck May Be Better Than His Critics Think

The 4-2 Colts are looking more like the perennial contenders they are supposed to be with each passing week. It's hard to fill Peyton Manning's shoes, but maybe it's time critics give quarterback Andrew Luck a little more credit. After starting 0-2, Luck and his Colts are on a 4-game winning streak. They beat the Ravens and the Texans in one week, and maybe- just maybe- Andrew Luck may be better than his critics think he is.

The story following the Colts' week 3 bounce-back with blow-out wins against the Jags and the Titans was "So what?" But back-to-back victories against a struggling but obstinate Ravens team and a more than capable Texans squad have to mean something.

In fact, the Texans nearly snapped the streak with ferocious play after the Colts dominated the first quarter. Then, according to USA Today, Indianapolis got served with a wake-up call (via USA Today):

"Truthfully, absolutely nothing about this rude wake-up call was subtle. Watt doesn't do subtle. He is a barnstorming, stampeding, haymaker-throwing wrecking ball, and he gave the Colts all they could handle while swatting footballs, sacking Andrew Luck and scooping up a fumble that he returned for a 45-yard touchdown."

Thanks in large part to Andrew Luck's gutsy play, 25-44 passing and 370 yards with three touchdown passes, the Colts won their tenth straight Thursday Night Football game (ESPN) and improved their current record to 4-2 (via Bleacher Report):

"This isn't about 'elite' or 'not elite.' We can leave that discussion for those who need to shout to back up their otherwise unsupported points. No, instead this is about a young quarterback having checked off all the boxes for what it means to be a franchise quarterback."

Maybe people are unfairly comparing him to a once in a lifetime player in Peyton Manning, but if Luck keeps throwing touchdowns and winning games, he may end up doing better than anyone expected.
