Jake "The Snake" Roberts Health Update: WWE Legend Backstage at Raw in Atlanta Comments on Beating Cancer and Near Death Illness [VIDEO]

Jake "The Snake" Roberts, the father of the DDT and one of the most celebrated figures within the wrestling industry and without, was in Atlanta this week for WWE Monday Night Raw. He wasn't on TV, but the wrestling legend was hanging out backstage when he did a quick interview with Eden. Roberts, who has had myriad health issues this year, gave fans an update on beating cancer and the continuing battle he faces following a near death bout of double pneumonia. His illness was treated, but revealed a second cancer in his chest. Roberts, though, remains optimistic.

The Snake was chillin' backstage in Atlanta when Eden chatted with him about his health. She told him how good he looked (via Cage Side Seats):

"Looks can be deceiving, you know? I've got some issues I'm dealing with but I'm so grateful for the prayers and the help that I've gotten from the WWE and the fan base. It's just incredible, the outpouring of good wishes that come out when you need them. We're still fighting a fight. I've beaten cancer once now and I'm ready if it comes back. I'm dealing with a brain bleed but I'm just glad they found the brain... I'm happy, and if you've got happiness growing from right here, what you got for me?"

You can see it on WWE Network as well, along with some of Roberts' classic matches.

Roberts, it is well known, has suffered from addiction for much of his life. After decades of alcohol and drug abuse, Jake is reportedly on the wagon thanks to his friend and former protégé, Diamond Dallas Page. Page has housed Roberts on multiple occasions, and trained him in a specialized form of low-impact yoga called DDP Yoga, for which Roberts is now an evangelist.
