Winners Of Yale University Literary Award 'The Windham-Campbell Prizes' Announced

The names of the inaugural winners of the Windham Campbell Prizes were announced on a live streamed event on March 4, by Yale President-elect Peter Salovey.

The prize will be handed out at a special ceremony set for September 10, 2013. All nine Windham-Campbell Prizes' recipients will receive $150,000.

The award is named after Donald Windham and his partner Sandy M. Campbell who donated a large portion of estate to honor writers in fiction, non-fiction, drama.

The nine winners are Zoë Wicomb, Tom McCarthy, James Salter, Jeremy Scahill, Jonny Steinberg, Adina Hoffman, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Naomi Wallace, Stephen Adly Guirgis.
