College football up-and-comer, Jameis Winston, has been under the microscope for his outstanding performance as Florida State's starting quarterback in 2013, and in turn being the Heisman Trophy Winner of last year. However, this once bright and shining star dimmed just a little more after the recent discovery of an alleged point shaving scandal, which followed rumors of sexual harrassment and rape.
Not to mention, the consequences of his actions from the NCAA can be severe. TMZ reported that:
"The NCAA is actively investigating allegations Florida State QB Jameis Winston was involved in a point shaving scheme to help another college football player win a $5,000 bet...We've learned...the NCAA enforcement staff is actively trying to contact individuals it believes may know anything about the alleged plot. The investigation stems from a report that Winston conspired with an old high school buddy--UAB football player Chris Rabb--to tank the 1st half of the FSU vs. Louisville game to help Rabb win a $5,000 bet."
The NCAA is not taking this matter lightly, and even after TMZ reached out to the organization, they refused to make any comment.
This isn't the only incident Jamies has been involved in recently. Earlier this year, the Seminole was accused of rape, and it seems like it is going to haunt him for a while. The Huffington Post claims that:
"...the woman has four years from the December 2012 encounter to file a lawsuit... [And] that could mean that she'll seek a chunk of the millions of dollars he could command in a future NFL contract."
It is clear that--in recent months--Winston has been doing more damage to his own career than the linebackers who aim devastating tackles at his kneecaps. If he doesn't get his head in the game soon, then he could fumble his chances of playing in the NFL.
