Soprano Sylvia Schwartz along with a spectacular cast including the Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg, Emoke Barath, Romina Basso, Sonia Prina, Johannes Weisser, Alan Curtis and II complesso barocco will perform today, March 20, 2013, Georg Friedrich Händel's 'Arianna in Creta,' opera in concert at Theater an der Wien.
In the concert, Sylvia Schwartz will sing role of Arianna, while the Swedish mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg will sing Teseo, Emoke Barath as Alceste, Romina Basso as Tauride, Sonia Prina as Carilda, Johannes Weisser as Minos/ II Sonno, accompanied by orchestra II complesso barocco.
Yesterday, Ann Hallenberg commented the opera in concert with excitement, "Vienna, here we come! Handel, ARIANNA IN CRETA with Alan Curtis and a spectacular cast tomorrow evening at the TAW! This is the only planned concert, so if you're not there you don't get a second chance! ;)"
