The Washington Ballet will celebrate the world premiere of Septime Webre's Hemingway: The Sun Also Rises with The Hemingway in Paris Ball. The gala will be held on April 12, 2013, at the Library of Congress in the Jefferson Building.
The DC's fundraising event will raise funds for the Ballet's training and outreach programs. The event will be chaired by Senator Chris Dodd and Jackie Clegg Dodd. Honorary chair will be Mariel Hemingway and The Board of Directors of the Washington Ballet.
The event will start with a special treat to a Jack Rose - the drink that was featured in Hemingway's novel 'The Sun Also Raises.'
The ball will feature décor by Syzygy Events International, floral décor will be designed by Suzanne Codi. Ball's dinner will be prepared by Susan Gage Caterers, praised by The Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema.
The evening will also feature The Washington Ballet's dancers and students, followed by DJ Pitch One as the night progresses.
The funds raised through The Hemingway in Paris Ball will support The Washington Ballet programs including The Washington Balle@THEARC, DanceDC, Excel!
