Mickey Rourke Boxing Match FAKE: Opponent Elliot Seymour Throws Fight for $15,000 Payday?

Some consider Mickey Rourke to be one of the best action heros of a generation. And last month, he added professional boxer to his resume. It was reported that the 62-year-old actor defeated a much younger opponent in a Russian boxing match. Now, however, his young adversary, Elliot Seymour, has come forth and admitted he threw the fight for a $15,000 payday.

In his acting career, Rourke has been critically praised for his work in Barfly, Angle Heart and The Wrestler. The younger generation, on the other hand, might recognize him from his roles in Iron Man 2, Sin City or The Expendables.

As a teenager, however, Rourke's main focus was on boxing rather than acting.

Mickey reportedly won his first boxing match at the age of twelve in the Flyweight division. He eventually took his passion all the way to the professional level, where he obtained a respectable record of 6 wins, 2 draws and 0 losses.

Earlier in 2014, news dropped that Rourke was making a spectacular return to the sport, and that he hadn't lost his edge. According to Business Insider, Mickey didn't show his 29-year-old counterpart any mercy:

"Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke picked up his boxing career on Friday night in Moscow at 62 years old - and beat his far younger opponent in the second round. Rourke, wearing red trunks with a Russian flag, unleashed a barrage of blows against 29-year-old Elliot Seymour, an American professional boxer, and the bout was halted. It had been set to go five rounds of two and a half minutes each but in the end lasted about four minutes."

Now, Elliot Seymour has come forward with some very troubling news. According to TMZ Sports, the whole fight was fixed:

"The guy Mickey Rourke knocked out last month in Russia is now admitting what everyone with eyes has suspected all along -- the whole match was a total SHAM. Elliot Seymour [reveals] the deal was he would go down from a body shot in the 2nd round ... and he would get $15,000 -- $10k up front and the rest when he got back to the U.S. Seymour initially denied any hijinx, but over the weekend in L.A. he came clean...he claims almost all his punches were choreographed...Seymour says the pressure to keep lying was getting to him -- and he's angry Rourke's people "dragged their feet" on paying up."

Other articles have also suggested that Elliot is a homeless man who took the deal while down on his luck. So, Was this a dirty move on Rourke part? Let us know in the comments below.
