On the surface of things it is starting to become clear that Nick Cannon's divorce from wife Mariah Carey isn't going as smoothly or painlessly as the America's Got Talent host would have you believe. Despite the fact that Amber Rose's rumored boyfriend has made a big deal about spending the holidays together, Mariah reportedly has an onstage breakdown during one of her recent Christmas shows -- tearfully sobbing her way through "Hero" December 15, in New York City. According to the latest gossip news updates, that is because her husband is trying his best to get a larger chunk of her net worth that previously agreed upon. Word has it that Nick isn't stopping with the money either. It is reported that Cannon is bitter over their marriage failing after all he's sacrificed and is fighting for custody of the kids, after he supposedly agreed he wouldn't.
Even though Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon want their fans to believe they are handling their split with poise and grace, it doesn't seem to be working out as well as they might have planned.
After a very embarrassing performance at the Rockefeller Center earlier his year, it is being widely reported that Mariah had a mini-emotional breakdown during a performance of "Hero" Monday night at the Beacon Theater (via In Touch):
"The 44-year-old singer appeared to be overwhelmed with passion and emotion as she tried to make it through the 1993 hit."
A secret source claiming to have all the behind-the-scenes deets insists in Life and Style's December 29, issue that the Mariah is so endanger of losing it night after night, because Cannon is relentlessly coming after her:
"Thought they signed a prenup, Nick feel entitled to $50 million.
