‘Gambler ’Mark Wahlberg Confirms ‘Transformers 5’ Casting After Sony PS4 ‘Uncharted’ Nathan Drake Drop Out [RELEASE DATE]

Gambler star Mark Wahlberg has officially confirmed that he will be back in 2016’s Transformers 5. The new film’s release date is right around the time as the movie adaptation of the Sony PS3/PS4 video game, Uncharted. Originally Wahlberg was cast as the lead in that film, Nathan Drake, but he dropped out after director David O. Russell left the project.

During an interview with MTV, Mark Wahlberg confirmed the he will be back for Transformers 5 and a few more Transformers films, stating, “Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more.”

The release date for Transformers 5 has been set for 24 June 2016, according the film's’ IMDB page.

It is still unknown if Michael Bay will return as director, but with the release date fast approaching, But he is anxious to get back to work, adding:

“I can’t speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon.”

Another film with a 2016 (June 10) release date that everyone is talking about is Sony’s Uncharted. The film, based on the PlayStation video game series, still doesn’t have a star attached to the play the lead, Nathan Drake.

Mark Wahlberg was, at one time, set to star in the film, but dropped out after director David O. Russell (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, Three Kings) left the film.

Fan’s of the video game then rallied around Nathan Fillion or the role of Nathan Drake, a role the Castle star was born to play.

However, Fillion has not been cast and the role is reportedly still open.
