CW ‘Arrow’ Episode Spoilers: Arsenal Colton Haynes and Black Canary Katie Cassidy Step Up After Ollie Ra’s Death/Resurrection

Spoiler Alert: Last week on Arrow, we saw a very dead Ollie Queen (Stephen Amell) being dragged backed to life by Maseo Yamashiro (Karl Yune) and his wife Katana Tatsu Yamashiro (Rila Fukushima). However, the good folks of Starling City (Star City), think that the Green Arrow is still dead after his duel with Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable). Now Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and the new Black Canary, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) are stepping up to save the city.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Arrow, titled “Midnight City,” reads:

“Arsenal and Diggle confront Laurel about trying to step into her sister's shoes and warn her to stop before she gets herself killed. Meanwhile, Brick kidnaps the city's aldermen and threatens to kill them unless the police evacuate the Glades; and Malcom tells Thea that Ra's al Ghul is after him and his family, and that they must leave town immediately.”

With Ollie still missing, Laurel is stepping up as the new Black Canary. Recently, Laurel actress Katie Cassidy opened up about taking over the mantle from her sister Sara:

“You’ll be surprised how much Sara is a part of Laurel in season 3 in her going from avenging her sister’s death to honoring her sister’s death to becoming her sister. Sara is so much apart of season 3 as a character even though she’s physically not there. It stays with her and the show. It’s what gets Laurel out on the streets. It’s what she wants to do. She has a choice.

“The difference between Sara and Laurel is that Sara didn’t have a choice. When her and Oliver were on the island, she had to go through that with him. Laurel has a choice. She takes her sister’s position, but she it comes from her heart and again avenging her sister’s death and honoring her sister.”

Be sure to check out the all new episode of Arrow, tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern on The CW.

The CW recently announced that Arrow has been renewed for a 4th season.
