Although some time has passed since Russell Wilson's divorce from wife Ashton Meem, there has been a resurgence in interest. This is especially true considering Wilson led his team to this year's Super Bowl. Naturally, that includes claims that Goden Tate cheated with Ashton Meem.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you are likely aware that Russell Wilson has taken the Seahawks back to the Super Bowl.
With over 100 million viewers of the annual event, it's no surprise that fans are clamoring for any information they can get on the star quarterback.
The even includes his ex-wife, Ashton Meem. Just Jared even dedicated an entire article to Meem and her relationship with Russell:
"Russell married his high school sweetheart Ashton Meem on January 14, 2012 and it was announced a little more than two years later on April 23, 2014 that they filed for divorce...The couple started dating in 2006 after growing up in Richmond, Virginia together, where they went to separate high schools."
With such a renewed interest in Mr. Wilson's private life, it's no surprise that Golden Tate has been getting some extra publicity as well. After all, Mr. Tate was rumored to have slept with Russell's then wife.
But as New York Post confirms, Golden Tate quickly refuted those rumors:
"I did not have an affair with Russell Wilson's wife, nor did I have anything to do with his divorce...That is laughable for anyone who knows us. His ex-wife, Ashton, is still best friends with my girlfriend. Russell and I were good friends when I was in Seattle, on and off the field -- he knows the rumors about me were unfounded, damaging to my reputation, and an attack on my character. Anyone who circulated that rumor was just plain irresponsible."
