Once again Ellen DeGeneres' marriage to Scandal star Portia de Rossi is said to be on t the verge of divorce due to their near-constant fighting. According to the latest gossip news updates, the talk show host turned TV producer and her wife are said to be living separately while they work through their issues. In the meantime, the successful comedienne won't having any problem finding female companionship -- having recently had to turn down Real Housewives of New York's Bethenny Frankel when she joked about wanting to be gay just to avoid the hassle of dealing with men.
In between all the almost breakups and getting back togethers, word has it that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have yet to work out the marital issues that act as a never-ending fuel to their tabloid gossip nightmares.
One source close to the couple claims in the April 20, issue of OK! Magazine that the ladies are currently living apart so they can ignore their mutual problems from homes across town:
"They are living out their problems apart, which means nothing is getting sorted out.
"They were definitely doing better after she got out, and Ellen was and Ellen was standing by her side.
"But they are going down a rocky road...They often end up fighting about their issues instead of working on them."
According to the informant, Ellen's problem is that she keeps putting her career before her relationship, while Portia's issues mostly seem to revolve around corralling DeGeneres:
"Ellen's more concerned with her image than the reality of what's happening at home.
"[Portia] is realizing that this isn't a true partnership -- it's way too one-sided.
"Portia really wants their marriage to work, but she doesn't know how to get through to Ellen anymore."
If her marriage to de Rossi does wind up on the rocks, Real Housewives of New York's prodigal son, Bethenny Frankel, need not come running.
During a recent chat on Ellen's show, DeGeneres flat out refused to even consider an alternate reality where the Skinny Girl could suddenly decide to become gay herself.
After describing how difficult it was to be in relationships with men, Bethenny mentioned she dreamed of being a lesbian -- only to have Ellen let her know that the gay women of the world weren't really looking to recruit (via Daily Mail):
"No you can't" just make that decision.
"It doesn't work that way, you really have to be one.
"Don't try to join our club."
Or course, there always a chance that Portia might be interested.
