Tonight, Fox’s hit comedy New Girl is all new with the Season 4 finale. Tonight, Jess and the gang say goodbye to Damon Wayans Jr.’s character Coach. Recently, the pregnant Zooey Deschanel, opened up about saying goodbye to Damon for a second time and filming Season 5 without him.
The official plot synopsis for the Season 4 finale episode of New Girl, titled, “Clean Break,” reads:
“In the Season 4 finale, Coach is moving out of the loft, while Schmidt gets rid of nonessentials and comes to realize what is really important to him, and Jess and Nick reminisce and try to determine how they feel about each other.”
Recently, Zooey Deschanel opened up about having to say goodbye to Damon Wayans Jr., again, telling The L.A. Times:
“I know, it’s so sad. We already shot a few episodes for Season 5. And that’s when it was clear that Damon was gone. It felt like the middle of a season, like we were switching seasons, and it was strange not to have Coach’s comedic moments mixed in.”
