When 20-year-old Gigi Hadid's rep recently broke the news of her split with Cody Simpson it was announced that the supermodel hoped to one day salvage their relationship, but it seems that she's not above exploring other options in the meantime. According to the latest gossip news updates, Gigi's brand new bestie, Taylor Swift, is deadset on hooking her up with one of the friends of her new boyfriend, Calvin Harris. Former Jonas Brothers band member, Joe Jonas, has also been romantically linked to the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, but Joe insists that he is still single for the time being.
Although he might have been photographed hanging out with the newly single supermodel a few times since her recent split from Cody Simpson, Joe Jonas claims that he is not dating sex-symbol, Gigi Hadid.
When asked about their official current dating status on Access Hollywood, Jonas told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush that he was still the only single Jo Bro for the time being -- insisting that he won't be losing his mind over Gigi ala Tom Cruise any time soon (via Daily Mail):
"I'm a single man...You're putting words in my mouth, huh?
"Do you want me to jump up and down on the couch?"
According to the insider quoted in the June 1, issue of Life & Style Taylor Swift has now taken over the hunt to find Hadid a new man, and 25-year-old Joe Jonas is likely to young to even meet all of the "Blank Space" beauty's criteria:
"Taylor knows she's not the best spokeswoman for dating, but that's not stopping her from helping Gigi.
"Taylor thinks that Gigi needs a guy a little older and definitely more mature that Cody.
The spy goes on to explain that Taylor has had no problem finding several suitable suitors among her 31-year-old boyfriend's pool of friends:
"Taylor has met a bunch of Calvin's hot, single buddies and she loves them.
"Taylor knows Gigi's type: tall, funny musicians.
"Gigi's only request is that she wants Taylor and Calvin to be there when she meets these guys for the first time."
While it isn't likely that he would be among Swift's top candidates to date Hadid, Joe Jones told Access Hollywood that he felt like he and Taylor were probably still friends despite their back-in-the-day breakup:
"I think we're friends.
'I think in this industry, you meet a lot of people and you stay in touch.
"Obviously, it's tough to be friends with people that are always constantly traveling, but yeah, we're cool."
Let's hope that Gigi isn't counting on Taylor Swift alone to help her find love, because she doesn't really have a reputation for picking a winner without going through at least half-dozen losers and as many years to get to him.
