The Super Bowl-winning quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He has been making the money of a third round draft pick for the last few years, while overachieving and bringing his team to the Super Bowl in consecutive years. If the Seahawks plan on keeping their quarterback around, they are going to have to convince him with a contract worthy of his production. With all of that off-season noise going on, he has been keeping level headed by hanging out with Ciara, who is rumored to be his girlfriend.
The Seahawks haven't offered any official extension or new contract to Wilson as of yet. Going into the final season of a contract without knowing your future can be a distraction. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll explains to Sports Illustrated that he knows Wilson can handle a situation like this:
"As much as anyone I know who can deal with it, Russell will...We've talked a lot about the process of all that, and the expectations. He's had a great off-season, he's looked incredibly in shape and faster than ever and all that. He's worked great on the field when he's been with us. He's really set his mind to it, and the proof is in the actions he puts out there. He's on it. Hopefully, we'll get something done. But if we don't, we'll deal with that. We're very close in our conversations and exchanging our process through this. The communication's been great."
One way to distract himself from the craziness that is the business of the NFL is to fully enjoy his personal life. While Wilson may not officially be the boyfriend of Ciara yet, Madame Noire tells of their budding relationship:
"While the exact relationship timeline for Ciara and Russell is not 100% clear, both parties have made it obvious that whatever they have going on is fairly new. It was only last month when the duo made their first public appearance together."
