Ben Affleck Talks Batman Death After ‘Daredevil’ Divorce Confirmation? [SPOILERS]

Let’s face it, Batman’s origin story has been done to death. Deader than Thomas and Martha Wayne themselves. Deader than Spider-Man’s Uncle Ben. So it’s a good thing that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is skipping the trip down Park Row (Crime Alley) and giving us a seasoned Batman. However, he might be a little seasoned. Recently, the 42-year-old, soon to be divorced actor, opened up about his take on Bats. While comparing The Caped Crusader to Hamlet, the former Daredevil star let slip that Batman is nearing the end of his life. Could we see The Dark Knight die somewhere down the line in the franchise?

Recently, Ben Affleck opened up to Entertainment Weekly, where he talked about the different interpretations of Batman over the years:

“Batman is basically the American version of Hamlet. We accept that he’s played by actors with different interpretations.”

Affleck went on to tease that his Batman is a lot closer to the end than other versions of the character:

“He’s at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There’s this sort of world-weariness to it.”

Could Ben Affleck be teasing Batman’s possible death in the franchise?

What do you think about Affleck’s comments? Do you think that Batman could die in the new franchise? What do you think about them casting an older Batman? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
