Wondering why you didn't see Priyanka Chopra during the IIFA Awards ceremony? Sure, there were no Khans or Bachchans, no word on the Leones Sergio or Sunny, but there was also no Priyanka Chopra. Why, you ask did Priyanka miss the 2015 IIFA awards? Hint, Anushka Sharma. That's why her name is in the title.
Priyanka was in Kuala Lumpur to attend the premiere of her film Dil Dhadakne Do. She was going to attend the event according to Bollywood Life but found out Anushka Sharma was going to be performing songs from the movie and went ballistic. From Bollywood Life comes this about the situation, "Priyanka already had a fallout with Excel Entertainment earlier and when she came to know that Anushka will be performing to Dil Dhadakne Do songs she was fuming with anger. That is the real reason why she did not come for the awards and only attended her film's premiere."
The once close friends have now become bitter enemies and seeing Anushka perform "her" songs apparently pushed Priyanka over the edge. How did hostilities get this far you ask? Well, apparently, the two struck up a friendship while filming Dil Dhadakne Do but that didn't last very long. NDTV takes it up from here, "... back on Indian shore once Priyanka found out that Anushka had allegedly been supplying fodder to gossip mongers, talking about Priyanka's supposed closeness to co-star Farhan Akhtar. The news didn't go down well with Priyanka who has known Farhan ever since he directed her in the Don series."
Whether or not Priyanka was informed beforehand or had any knowledge of Anushka's performance is uncertain. What is for certain, is the two actresses are neither fans of the other, so don't be expecting any movies co-starring the two anytime soon.
