HBO Lena Dunham to Cast Malia Obama in ‘Girls’ Season 5? [NEWS]

Although she seemingly has no shortage of world famous role models at her own home on Pennsylvania Avenue, First Daughter, Malia Obama, is said to view Lena Dunham as someone she'd wish to emulate. According to the latest gossip news updates, Barack and Michelle's oldest has been interning at HBO's Girls all summer and will likely make a cameo appearance alongside the rest of the regular cast at some point in Season 5. Meanwhile, the activist/director has been busy being someone worthy of Malia's adoration -- simultaneously supporting Planned Parenthood and Judd Apatow's crusade against Bill Cosby on Twitter in recent weeks.

Forgot about freerides on Air Force One or exclusive excess to the most powerful man in the free world, finally Malia Obama has been able to parlay her dad's Presidency into something a person her age actually cares about: A cameo appearance on HBO's Girls.

One source in the latest August 3, issue of OK! Magazine revealed that not only in Malia interning with Lena Dunham this summer, with any luck she should be able to work for her in front of the camera as well:

"Lena is talking to her about a cameo on Girls.

"Lena admires Malia's work ethic. She can see Malia's passion for the entertainment industry.

"Malia considers Lena a role model...she'd love to embody one of her characters."

In addition to working on Girls with Malia Obama this season, Dunham has been championing her feminist causes as best she can through interviews with the media and Twitter.

When Planned Parenthood came under attack this week for the way in which it handles the sale of fetuses, Dunham jumped to defend the group on social media -- calling on every other likeminded citizen to do the same (via FreeBeacon):

"Educate yourself on the reality of the attacks against Planned Parenthood."

"Planned Parenthood has stood by women and their families for nearly 100 years. Now it's our turn to #standwithPP."

Dunham also made sure to lend her public support to comedian/director Judd Apatow, who has been taking Bill Cosby to task at any and every opportunity ever since an avalanche of serial rape allegations began to surface earlier this year.

While many celebrities have chosen to remain silent, Lena applauded Apatow for never relenting in his pursuit to expose Cosby (via People):

"I am proud to work with @juddapatow for a million reasons, but his dogged pursuit of justice for the women Bill Cosby raped is a big one.

"It takes Hollywood far too long to believe survivors, and even longer to stop defending the men who make the money. A simple and sad truth."

"I love knowing an angry hairy feminist like @JuddApatow!"

And now -- thanks to her time interning on Girls -- Malia Obama knows him too.
