The classic tale of New York City success and romance gets a unique update in Alan Brown and Jonah Bokaer's FIVE DANCES.

Writer/director Brown and choreographer Bokaer have fashioned the story of "Chip"--a talented Kansas kid who joins a small downtown NYC dance company.

In his first weeks of rehearsal, "Chip" (Ryan Steele in his film debut) gets initiated into the life of a New York dancer, "where discipline and endless hard work, camaraderie and competitiveness, the fear of not being good enough, and the joy of getting it just right, inform every minute of every day."

Shot in and around a real SoHo dance studio, Brown and Bokaer capture both "Chip" and the company with all the intimacy and immediacy of the best dance documentaries.
