Suicide Squad is coming, and all of our favorite villains are getting out of Arkham. Here's what co-stars Corina Calderon and Margot Robbie have to say about Jared Leto's Joker.
Corina Calderon, one of Jared Leto's co-stars in the 2016 film Suicide Squad and playing a character named Grace, praised the actor during a recent interview. She was fairly tight-lipped about the whole thing, and the secrecy protecting the film has been top-notch. Here are some tidbits that could be gathered from the interview.
"As the Joker, he is brilliant. . . . I was amazed, just fascinated, mesmerized watching him. Even when he was going to get his mic checked in between scenes. . . . Watching him really gave me this whole new freedom as an actress. I feel brave, I feel ballsy watching him go. It was an amazing lesson."
Calderon is not the only co-star to speak highly of Leto's performance. Margot Robbie, playing Harley Quinn, said that Leto's Joker is "pretty impressive." It must be, considering that the actor playing Harley Quinn, the defining epitome of pscyho-b**ch, was uncomfortable around the Joker when he wasn't in make-up. "I saw him out of makeup once and I was actually petrified of him. I was too scared to go up and didn't know who that person was, and when he got back into his makeup I was far more comfortable." Only Harley Quinn would ever be comfortable around a Jokered-up Joker, so kudos to both of them for fitting their roles well.
The release date for Suicide Squad is currently set for August 5th, 2016. Personally, I'm not happy with having to wait that long for more insanity, but hopefully this will be one of the best villain movies ever.
