‘Arrow’ ‘Flash’ ‘Legends’ Crossover After Canceled ‘Constantine’ Gives Ollie Magic Tattoo

The Arrow, Flash crossover event is here and it’s setting the stage for the all new spin-off series, Legends of Tomorrow. Speaking of crossovers. Recently, John Constantine (Matt Ryan) made his way back from cancellation to help lend Oliver (Stephen Amell) a hand and a tattoo. But not just any old, “best friends forever,” “no regrats” sort of tattoo either, but a magic one that is supposed to help save Ollie’s life. Now, executive producer Wendy Mericle is opening up about how Constantine’s parting gift to Ollie will come into play.

The official plot synopsis for this week’s crossover episode of Arrow, titled “Legends of Yesterday,” reads:

“A crossover episode that began on "The Flash" concludes with Oliver and Barry taking Kendra and Carter to a remote location to keep them hidden from Vandal Savage, while they figure out how to defeat him. Meanwhile, Malcolm arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow and the Flash, but it doesn't go as planned.”

Earlier in the season we saw John Constantine (Matt Ryan) show up in Star City and learned that him and Oliver had spent some time together on a remote island. Constantine gave Oliver a magic tattoo. Now executive producer Wendy Mericle is opening up about when we will see that tattoo in action, telling EW’s Spoiler Room:

“Basically Constantine says to him that this is insurance against Reiter, and we’re going to deliver on that promise entirely. It’s going to help Oliver when he’s in a very dark place and time when he has no other way out. It’s going to be the thing that pulls him out of a very dark spot and literally saves him”

But if this tattoo will come into play against Dameon Dark is a different story:.

“The mysticism that Reiter is practicing may or may not sync up with what Damien Darhk is doing.”
