Even before she was hospitalized last week for the flu, Mariah Carey was well on her way to losing the reported 45-pounds she's dropped since starting a relationship with James Packer. According to the latest gossip news updates, Mariah's billionaire boyfriend has been on a mission to get into tip top shape for a while now, which has inspired Carey to adopt certain portions of his diet and exercise regimen. Perhaps, once Packer is in pique physical condition he will finally be willing to meet Mariah's ex-husband, Nick Cannon, who insists he is looking forward to getting to know the Aussie with the 4-billion-dollar net worth.
While she spent much of her time with Nick Cannon slowly amassing more and more weight, Mariah Carey is said to be bound and determined to get back to a more streamline figure now that she is with James Packer.
One source in the latest December 21, issue of Life & Style magazine claims that through a series lifestyle changes, Mariah was finally able to drop the pounds that have been plaguing her for years:
"For the past few months she's been even lots of small portions and working out every day doing yoga and Pilates.
"I think being so happy [with James] has contributed to her weight loss.
"James is on a strict diet plan and he's lost lots of wait recently, so she took his plans and adopted it to her lifestyle. When Mariah puts her mind to something, she can do anything."
Despite dating the mother of his children for the past 6-months, Nick Cannon recently admitted to Ellen that he has still not met Mariah's new health conscious boyfriend, although he is very much looking forward to the day when they do get to hang out (via InTouch):
"I haven't [met him yet], I want to though.
"I think that would be cool. It's still like, we've all talked about it and stuff. It seems like it's cool."
Chances are that Nick may soon get that chance to meet Packer in Aspen, as the entire family is apparently all set to head there together to celebrate Christmas.
During a recent interview with E! News, Mariah explained that she and Nick are doing their best to keep all their old holiday traditions alive, despite their having started seeing other people (via MadameNoire):
"Santa Claus comes every year and real reindeer are there, of course, as well. [We have] too many traditions to name!
"We go on a two-horse open sleigh and spend Christmas in Aspen usually so I can have a white Christmas, so it's really nice."
It's good to see Nick and Mariah doing their best to make sure their divorce doesn't affect their kids' Christmas, even if there will likely be an adjustment or two to the holiday menu this year.
