Gallinari "has been the team's MVP so far this season," and losing him temporarily is going to severely set back the Nuggets, who are already struggling with a 12-20 record. It is highly unlikely that the Nuggets will defeat the Blazers tonight, and looking at the statistics for the season so far (where the Nuggets trail the Blazers in most aspects) only confirms the likelihood of a loss.
The Portland Trail Blazers are on the mend, even if they've not had a great opening to the season, going 13-20. They are 7-6 at home, so tonight's game definitely favors them over the Nuggets (7-10 away). Not only that, but Damian Lillard appears to be on the mend, even going through parts of the Blazers practice sessions. According to The Oregonian, "The All-Star point guard said his foot was pain-free after the workout, but stopped short of declaring himself ready to return when the team hosts the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night at the Moda Center." So while this won't affect this game (other than perhaps a morale boost), in the near future it might help turn a losing season around.
Based on the season so far (and the fact that key player Gallinari is out for the Nuggets), it looks like the Trail Blazers will win tonight's NBA game.
