Jeremy McCarthy Tells What Happened In the Room in New ‘Hamilton the Revolution’ Book

You might have not been able to be in the room where it happened but Jeremy McCarther was and he is telling everyone all about it. MaCarthur co-authored the upcoming book, Hamilton the Revolution, alongside the musical’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda. The book written in the style of something from Alexander Hamilton’s era, includes annotated lyrics and a history of the Hamilton himself.

Hamilton the Revolution co-author Jeremy McCarter recently spoke to Vulture about how the book came about, saying:

“When Lin told me that there was going to be a book about the show and proposed that he and I do it together, I wasn’t sure what the book could be until I thought about the fact that Hamilton tells the story of a revolution, but it is itself a revolution, and the book could be a way for readers to watch those two revolutions happen in tandem.”

MaCarthur has been around Hamilton since the inception which helped him pen the book, adding:

“I got lucky. One of the fortunate, unexpected things about this book is that I’ve been around the show since before it was a show, and I didn’t have a thought in my head about writing a book about it with its author until he proposed it very late in the process. So a lot of the book is based on things that I got to see firsthand that haven’t been reported elsewhere because nobody else was there.”

Hamilton the Revolution is scheduled for release on April 12, 2016.

Hamilton is currently playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre located at 226 West 46th Street between Broadway and 8th.
