With her marriage to Portia di Rossi all but over, word has it that Ellen DeGeneres is more than ready to split up their things and file for divorce, but she fears that her fragile wife might not live to see it. Rumor has it Portia was very much in the grip of alcoholism and anorexia, when Ellen found her and nursed her back to health.
Ellen DeGeneres has just about got all the use out of Portia de Rossi she wants, and rumor has it, is ready to get rid of her younger wife for an even younger lover.
Ellen has made no secret of her Polanski-esqe love of younger women, and it's taken its toll on Portia both mentally and physically.
An insider told Star that De Rossi is willing to anything to keep Ellen, but it hasn't worked:
"Portia will try any new trick to retain her looks and keep Ellen attracted to her. She spends thousands on luxury facial creams and beauty products-and even more on dermatologists.
"The worst part is that Portia has invested so much time and money into trying to look young, but it's backfiring. Ellen loves edgy women in their 20s; Portia's starting to look like a Beverly Hills housewife."
According to Celerity Dirty Laundry, the 56-year-old day time talk show host is ready to move on, but is afraid what it will do to Portia, who has a history of substance abuse:
"Portia is ready to pull the plug on the relationship but there is concern about being on her own. When she and Ellen first got together, Portia was knee deep in her battle with anorexia and drank heavily.
"It was Ellen that helped her to get healthy and so some worry that if Ellen isn't in her life there's a chance that Portia would slide back into her destructive behavior."
Truth be told, Ellen is reportedly more interested in Jodi Foster's relationship coming apart than her own.
A source close to Ellen and presumably the Hollywood celebrity lesbian community told ShowBizSpy, Ellen once dated Foster's girlfriend Alexandra Hedison and has dedicated herself to making sure she would never be happy again:
"Ellen feels Jodie is stabbing her in the back by hooking up with Alex.
"The lesbian community in Hollywood is very small, and it's well-known that Ellen and Alex had a very contentious breakup after Ellen got tired of Alex and hooked up with Portia de Rossi.
"Ellen has been under constant stress from the demands of her daily talk show, and she's in a foul mood over the problems she and Portia are having.
"Ellen is extraordinarily competitive, so it pains her to see Alex moving on with someone as successful and talented as Jodie...Ellen is also vindictive, and she's spreading the word among mutual friends that Jodie is pathetic for picking up her cast-off...But Jodie couldn't care less.
"She thinks Ellen is a fool for letting such a good catch get away. Jodie had half a mind to send Ellen a note saying, 'Your loss is my gain,' but she isn't confrontational.
"As far as Jodie is concerned, Ellen can stew in her own regret and bitterness."
Sounds like everyone is going to need a drink or two before Ellen is through.
