'Jane Monheit Does a Ella Fitzgerald Album
Jazz singer Jane Monheit has been able to fufill two long held ambitions with her upcoming CD release. She has her new label Emerald City Record and, on April 8th, she will pay tribute to her idol Ella Fitzgerald by releasing Emeralds first project, The Songbook Sessions:Ella Fitzgerald. Monheit manages a record that acknowledges her idol while giving her own stamp to the familiar Fitzgerald material. With the contributions of her producer and arranger and trumpeter Nicolas Payton, a real effort was made to update the material and make it fresh for Jane Monheit. -
'New Mom Katherine Jenkins Heads Back to Work
Katherine Jenkins has been in a mommy mood. Last September, the Welsh singer gave birth to her first child, a girl named Aaliyah Reign. It is understandable that the singer, who was once offered the most lucrative contract in British classical music while hardly into her 20's, , has said she can't stand to be away from her newborn child. When you are a singer as well known as Katherine Jenkins, you eventually get back in shape and return to your public. Festivities for the Queen's 90th birthday are what is drawing Katherine back to public performing.
