Controversy around the hit Bollywood film "PK" does not seem to be dying anytime soon. A group of 40 Hindu religious leaders and seers have gathered to try to ban the film in India. In recent weeks, drama has been brewing after Hindu groups claimed the film offends their religion. Around 40 leaders and seers have gone to watch the controversial movie, claiming it is the first movie they have ever watched, to see what all the fuss is about. "People are opposing this movie, so we decided to watch the movie before making any statement," said Computer Baba, a city-based seer, adding that they did not want to make any statement and protest without watching the movie. The film has earned more than $33 million in the 10 days since it opened and shows a funny and lovable alien who lands in India and loses contact with his spaceship, but discovers that Indians are superstitious about their gods and surround themselves with all kinds of swindling Hindu religious gurus. But on Monday, Dec. 29, angry groups burnt effigies of the film’s director and actor, tore and blackened movie posters and shattered the glass walls at the movie ticket counters. Calls to boycott the movie dominated social media groups this weekend. Popular yoga guru Baba Ramdev urged Hindus to boycott the movie and “organize themselves to protect their religion and culture just like Muslim and Christian groups do.” The Vishwa Hindu Parishad — or World Hindu Council — a Hindu nationalist group and an affiliate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political party, wrote to the country’s information and broadcasting ministry demanding that such movies be stopped and called for an overhaul of the censor board that cleared "PK."

It has been reported that well-loved Bollywood rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh may be suffering from depression. Following a long period of hibernation, a buzz about Singh suffering from depression has surfaced. Singh has not been without his own media controversy lately. Soon after emerging as a popular mentor on Star Plus’s reality show "India’s Raw Star," the singer suffered a back injury during Shah Rukh Khan’s Slam! The Tour in September. Unfortunately, he had to miss a few concerts and was advised complete bed rest for 45 days. Since then, Singh has canceled all show and "India’s Raw Star" replaced him with Himesh Reshammiya. While it is still unclear whether or not he actually is suffering from clinical depression, reportedly the singer had a violent argument with a popular Bollywood personality. Apparently, the argument heated up to an extent that the actor slapped Singh. Many believe this incident sank him deeper into hibernation. A post on Singh's Facebook page states: “Dear well wishers and Fans, it's true that your desikalakar has not been keeping well and will be out of action for a while. Due to his illness, he has been advised strict bed rest. As a family, we are really thankful to a lot of people for supporting him and us during his illness. He shall be back real soon to do what he does best, i.e to entertain you all. Keep him in your prayers and keep supporting and loving apka apna Yo Yo Honey Singh.”
