'Sony Masterworks Releasing Live Recording of ‘Kinky Boots’ on The West End this Spring

Sony Masterworks will be producing a live recording of 'Kinky Boots' from the London's Adelphi Theatre. Kinky Boots originated in Chicago in 2012 and landed on on Broadway in 2013 winning six Tony Awards. The orginal cast started Stark Sands as Charlie Price and Billy Porter as Lola/ Simon. Famed rocker Cyndi Lauper wrote the music for the show with actor/writer Harvey Fierstein ('Hairspray') provided the book. The current West End production stars Killian Donnelly as Charlie and Matt Henry as Lola.

For iconic cellist Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Kathryn Stott remains not just a collaborator, but a longtime friend--worthy of sharing both a stage and the bill for their new album, released today (September 18) on Sony Classical/Masterworks. Together, the duo's disc tis aptly name 'Songs from the Arc of Life.' A seemingly intimidating title, actually, the 19 tracks here are more like cadences, respites from their time together that, because life moves so fast, just have not been put to record. Of course, Ma and Stott are exploring a bit, too, offering new contents to their expansive repertoire.
