WATCH: Michael Almereyda Redux of William Shakespeare’s 'Cymbeline,' Starring Ethan Hawke & Ed Harris [TRAILER, CLIP]

The Michael Almereyda-directed remake of William Shakespeare’s admittedly obscure Cymbeline--starring Ethan Hawke and Ed Harris--now has both a trailer and clip for you to watch. This film takes Shakespeare's play on the battle between Roman and Celtic nobility to a futuristic mine field.

Almereyda’s vision of the historical text includes a cornucopia of present-day activities, including firing off handguns, motorcycle car chases and drug labs. As the filmmaker behind 2000's Hamlet, Almereyda is no stranger to blunt activity.

Cymbeline sticks to present day Shakespearean remakes, featuring, as always, a consistent and healthy amount or star-crossed lovers and A-list celebs: Milla Jovovich, Penn Badgley, Anton Yelchin, John Leguizamo, Dakota Johnson, James Ransone and Delroy Lindo.

This first clip opens to a filthy Hawk chained to a table while all kinds of drug concoctions are being brewed behind him. The trailer continues in the same aesthetic, reminiscent of Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Romeo and Juliet (starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes and, again, Leguizamo).

Ed Harris goes crazy, Jovovich dons a princess crown...and there is a pool table full of Hershey Kisses?

A release date for Cymbeline has yet to be announced, however, Almereyda's film premiered at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week.

Watch below for the action-packed literary thriller.
