The official plot synopsis for the Season 10 premiere episode of Bones, titled “The Conspiracy in the Corpse,” reads:
“Booth is in jail and awaiting trial as Season 10 begins, but the Jeffersonian team wonder if the remains of a man who died 16 years ago have something to do with the conspiracy that put him in prison--a place Booth shares with criminals he helped lock up. Meanwhile, Sweets and Daisy share a surprise with the lab.”

‘Bones’ Stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel Discuss Season 9 Cliffhanger and Season 10 Spoilers
Following the shocking Season 9 finale of Bones, David Boreanaz spoke to E! Online about the episode’s cliffhanger:
"We leave off with Booth is fighting for his life and we don't know what the deal is as far as his health is concerned."
David Boreanaz’s co-star, Emily Deschanel also spoke up about the Season 9 finale:
"It leaves a big cliffhanger at the end. It brings a lot of changes for our characters, especially going into Season 10."
