Alongside Mellissa Hughes and Martha Culver, her vocalmates in the group Va Vocals, recent Pulitzer winner Caroline Shaw stopped by Strand Books last night--with her iPad--for a stunning a cappella performance of David Lang's "I Want to Live Where You Live."
Lang, alongside his Bang on a Can collaborators Julia Wolfe and Michael Gordon, spoke first about their third joint composition, Shelter--from which "I Want to Live Where You Live" comes.
David Lang was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in music for his piece The Little Match Girl Passion.
