Daniel Rossen of Grizzly Bear Releases Sample from His Score for Indie Film 'Valedictorian' Directed by Matthew Yeager

Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen has released a sample of music that he has written for the score of the upcoming independent film Valedictorian, directed by Matthew Yeager.

Rossen, also a member of the band Department of Eagles, was recruited by the director to write the music for the upcoming film. Rosen has posted a link to a sample of the score to SoundCloud. This will be the musician's first large solo project since releasing his EP Silent Hour/Golden Mile in 2012, reported Fader.

"Here’s a sample of the music I did for the film Valedictorian. The film is the story of a young man that slowly walks away from his life in New York and fades into the background of the city over the course of a year. It’s split up into 12 scenes, one for each month, and my task was to score a short piece of music to mark each passing month,” said Rossen in a SoundCloud comment.

The film will be screened as part of the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. Check out the sample released by Rossen that he wrote for the month of July.
