‘Cabaret’ Emcee and ‘Wicked’ Wizard Joel Grey Comes Out of The Closet at 82
Famed Cabaret star and Broadway legend Joel Grey has come out of the closet at the age of 82. The iconic Emcee of the Kit Kat Klub and Wicked Wizard recently opened up as a gay in an recent interview.
Joel Grey finally confirmed, what pretty much everyone already assumed, when he came out to People Magazine, stating:
"I don't like labels but if you have to put a label on it, I'm a gay man."
Joel was married to Jo Wilder for almost 25 years, and he fathered two children including Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Dirty Dancing star Jennifer Grey. Grey went on to add that he hasn’t kept his sexuality a secret from those close to him:
"All the people close to me have known for years who I am. [Yet] it took time to embrace that other part of who I always was."
Grey is a Tony, Oscar and Golden Globe Award winner, among many other accolades. Some of Grey’s many Theater, Film and TV credits include: Cabaret, The Fantasticks, The Muppet Show, Star Trek: Voyager, Grey's Anatomy, Chicago, Wicked and Anything Goes, just to name a few.
