Dale Earnhardt Inc Partner and Ganassi Racing Co-Owner Sells Bentley Dealership After Rolex 24 Win at Daytona

Chip Ganassi Racing is one of the top automotive organizations in NASCAR. In recent news, the company's co-owner, Felix Sabates, was forced to sell his Bentley dealership in North Carolina after the business started to struggle. Now, he has virtually stranded the Carolinas and left them with only one location to buy high-end vehicles. Not all news has been bad for Ganassi Racing in recent months. IndyCar Champ Scott Dixon recently took his sponsors to victory land with a record-breaking performance at 2015's Rolex 24 at Daytona.

In 2001, Ganassi and Sebates merged operations after Ganassi bought a majority of shares in Felix's Team SABACO. The organization now sponsors teams that compete in the Verizon IndyCar Series, NASCAR and the TUDOR Unites SportsCar Championship.

As far as racing organizations go, any little setback can be evidence of more serious problems occurring down the line. According to the Charlotte Observer, Felix Sabates recently encountered one of these detriments:

"Charlotte businessman Felix Sabates, a NASCAR team co-owner, has closed his Bentley dealership on East Independence Boulevard. Sabates, who opened the dealership in November 2013, told the Observer on Tuesday the business' pre-owned segment had struggled. In addition to the Bentley brand, the dealership had sold used vehicles by Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Jaguar and Maserati. Those who want to buy a Bentley in North Carolina will have to go to High Point, which now has the state's only dealership."

On the other hand, Ganassi racing has still been able to bring home some significant wins. According to Fox Sports, Scott Dixon's Rolex 24 victory was ground breaking:

"Team owner Chip Ganassi was in a familiar place after the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona came to a conclusion Sunday afternoon. It's called Victory Lane. For a record sixth time in 12 attempts a Ganassi-owned car scored the overall win in the prestigious endurance race. No organization has claimed more overall victories in the 53 years the event has been held. Three-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon drove the majority of the race in the No. 02 Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley Daytona Prototype..."
