Guillermo of 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' Makes Broadway Debut in Disney's ‘Aladdin’

Broadway isn’t just for the stars anymore, it’s also for their security guards! Jimmy Kimmel Live’s security guard and show sidekick, Guillermo, made his Broadway debut in Disney’s Aladdin this week.

The footage of Guillermo’s big debut was aired on last nights Jimmy Kimmel, marking not only his first role in a play, but his first ever visit to the Great White Way. Guillermo is a regular personality on the popular ABC show, rising from the parking lot security guard to recurring cast member and Kimmel’s sidekick.

Aladdin opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre in March and since then, the show has received 24 major theatrical award nominations. It was also the third highest attended Broadway show in 2014, with only Wicked and Disney’s The Lion King above it. The show features music by heavyweight Alan Menken, who is known for work on Newsies and Sister Act and is directed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw who worked on The Book of Mormon.

Guillermo starred as one of the cart vendors in the fictional town of Agrabah. This was no silent performance either. The former security guard had to memorize a couple of lines and deliver them in front of a sold-out audience. "I have no idea what I'm doing,” he says in the video.
